on the topic of futurism

Ever since I was young, I've always been excited by the idea of futurism. Cartoons that pictured futuristic cities were fascinating to me. I found my imagination enthralled with the idea of what could be when I was older, what the world would look like, and what fascinating technologies awaited me that I couldn't even currently comprehend. I grew up with Star Trek: The Next Generation frequently playing on TV. I was also fortunate enough to live nearby to Walt Disney World, and to have an annual pass at many points in my childhood. In the early 2000's, Walt Disney World's Tomorrowland was sporting it's fairly fresh 1994 re-theme, silver and full of colorful lighting. This was a dream come true, a fantastical land of the future that I could walk through, touch, interact with. A glimpse at what could be. Down the road was Epcot, also very much in it's 90's theming, with the front half of the park being Future World. A future that's a bit closer to home, showcasing more current technologies and innovations and how they were being applied today, to shape tomorrow. The Innoventions Music Loop played throughout, giving the whole area the sense of a glimmering hope.
